Oxytocin Puzzle Project
You can fund a piece of an exciting research project looking into how Oxytocin effects adults with Prader-Willi Syndrome! Oxytocin, the ‘trust hormone’ is low in the brains of those with PWS. Dr. Tauber’s group has shown that administering oxytocin to adults with PWS is potentially useful in decreasing disruptive behavior. In this study, Dr. Tauber will expand the initial study for a longer duration and incorporate advanced imaging analysis to understand how oxytocin administration alters brain metabolism. The total cost of this research project is $50,000 and will be funded through our “Puzzle Project”. For more information on this project, read our research blog entry Oxytocin: as a promising treatment in PWS.
Pieces of this project may be “purchased” for $500/piece at puzzle.fpwr.org.
