Friends,

I just want to update you on the plans for the 2007 FPWR Annual Meeting. As you know, we're scheduled to meet the weekend of Oct. 5-7 at Snow Mountain Ranch near Frasier, Colorado. This is a YMCA facility and gets rave reviews as a family-friendly retreat center. Our weekend will include a variety of workshops for adults and lots of opportunities for fun for the children. (Shhh….Keep this under your hat, but there will also be a lot of fun for the adults, too!)

Speakers for the adult sessions include Dr. Jennifer Miller (pediatric endocrinology), Dr. Lucy Jane Miller (sensory integration), Dr. Theresa Strong (genetics), Dr. Lauren Schwartz (psychology/family dynamics), as well as a discussion group on fundraising and panel discussion with doctors and therapists from a variety of specialties. We are also pleased to announce that Craig Polhemus, the new Executive Director of PWSA, will be with us for the weekend. We are really looking forward to meeting Craig and his wife, and spending this time with them.

Children will be enjoying guided hikes, crafts, games, and movies. Family activities will include a camp fire (complete with camp fire songs!), a team-building experience called Challenge by Choice, and a wagon ride around the retreat center, as well as time for a choice of activities available at the Y. Families can enjoy the olympic-size indoor, heated pool, basketball, volleyball, mini-golf, hiking, the library, a frontier homestead, and so many other great options that Snow Mountain Ranch offers us. The only problem will be having enough time to take in all the fun!

Instructions for reservation at Snow Mountain Ranch are on the website at https://www.fpwr.org/civicrm/event/info?reset=1&id=12. You will also need to register for the conference following the directions on that same page. Please let me know if you have any questions about making reservations with the retreat center OR registering for the conference. I'd be more than glad to help.

OK….you're hyped up for the weekend's activities. While you're online–right now–reserve your room and register for the conference. Also, run, do not walk, to your telephone and call friends in the PWS community and members of your family who would benefit from being involved in this weekend. We are going to have a inspiring and educational weekend that will send you home hopeful, refreshed and energized. I know you want as many of your friends in the PWS community to share in this experience as possible so make those calls and get them registered!

I can't wait to see you all again and look forward to spending a wonderful weekend together!

Rachel
