Running for Hope: Meet Team FPWR 2025

Written by Natalie Brenneman | October 15, 2025

They’re parents, siblings, friends, and advocates, and this November, they’ll take on 26.2 miles together for a cause close to their hearts. Meet Team FPWR, a passionate team of athletes raising awareness and accelerating research for Prader-Willi syndrome. Each has their own story, but they share one goal: turning every step into hope for our community.

The Grimmers
Oakland, CA

Ellie and Chris are running for their 11-year-old son, Reid, a smart, adventurous, and kind big brother who dreams of becoming an engineer like his dad. From day one, Reid has shown what true toughness looks like, pushing through challenges with grace and determination. Inspired by his strength, Ellie and Chris are taking on the NYC Marathon together, turning every mile into momentum for PWS research.

This is Ellie’s third time running for FPWR and Chris’s first, proving that marathon grit runs in the family.

Jake Stackpole

West Haven, CT

Jake is running for Owen, his college lacrosse coach’s son, whose joy and grace remind him what it means to live fully.

Every mile of the NYC Marathon is a tribute to Owen and the PWS community as Jake runs to fund the breakthroughs families are counting on.

Chrissa Bloom

Bay Shoare, NY

Chrissa is running for her best friend’s son, Vincent, a warm, outgoing, lovable teenager who brings joy wherever he goes.

She runs for FPWR because Vincent cannot, and every step is powered by friendship, love, and the hope research brings.

Marc Rutchik

New York, NY

Marc is running on behalf of all the incredible individuals in the FPWR community.

Fueled by hope and driven by purpose, he’s proud to use his miles to raise awareness and accelerate research that can change lives.

James Lantz

A lifelong runner, James is tackling his first World Major to support FPWR’s mission and help bring new treatments to families like Hunter’s.

Jackie Glascock

Ashland, MO

Jackie is running for her 10-year-old son, Nate, a funny, social, Lego-loving kid who keeps her laughing and inspired.

Joined by her sister-in-law and teammate Erica, Jackie is proud to raise funds for research and take on one final marathon in Nate’s honor.

Erica Canlas

Columbia, MO

Erica is running for her nephew, Nate, whose curiosity, quick thinking, and zest for life light up every room.

She’s proud to take on the NYC Marathon alongside her sister-in-law, Jackie, running for breakthroughs and a brighter future for those living with PWS.

Kelly Volpe

Collegeville, PA

Kelly is running in celebration of her niece, Avery, a stylish, funny, and caring 19-year-old, and her sister, Christine, whose dedication inspires her daily.

This is Kelly’s fifth marathon and her first NYC Marathon, making it the perfect time to honor Avery’s achievements and advance research through FPWR.

Will Greene
Pleasanton, CA

Will is running for his son, Ari, who lives with PWS and motivates him to face every challenge with perseverance.

Taking on his first marathon, Will sees the NYC course as a symbol of resilience and community, and every step as a stride toward new research and real solutions.

Abhishek Kumar
Jersey City, NJ

Abhishek is running for his son, Avir, whose courage inspires him to go the distance.

He’s proud to take on the NYC Marathon to raise awareness and support FPWR’s mission to eliminate the challenges of PWS through research and therapeutic advancement.
