Drs. Roy and Bird will convene a panel of experts to develop guidelines for clinical care of neonates and infants with PWS.
Led by Dr. Sani Roy at Cook Children’s Medical Center (Fort Worth, TX) and Dr. Lynne Bird at Rady Children’s Hospital San Diego, the Neonatal Delphi Consensus Project is a collaborative, multidisciplinary effort to improve the early care of newborns and infants with Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS). This initiative brings together experts from across North America to develop practical, consensus-based recommendations addressing critical gaps in guidance during the neonatal and early infancy period. Using a structured modified Delphi methodology, the project focuses on key areas such as early diagnosis, feeding and respiratory management, endocrine care, and safe discharge planning. By reducing variability in clinical practice and defining clear, evidence-informed care pathways, this work aims to bring greater clarity, consistency, and confidence to clinicians and families navigating the earliest and most vulnerable stages of life in Prader-Willi syndrome.
