Generating PWS stem cells from cord blood samples

NO LONGER RECRUITING

Dr. Marc Lalande at the University of Connecticut is seeking individuals with PWS to donate cord blood samples.  Cells from the cord blood will be used to make PWS stem cells for research use in the laboratory.  Generating stem cells from a variety of participants will help Dr. Lalande and his group better understand how the PWS region of chromosome 15 is regulated and will be used to test approaches to reactivate the silent PWS-region genes on the maternal chromosome 15.

A news story on this study can be seen through the following link.

To participate, please contact Dr. Lalande at: lalande@uchc.edu or (860) 679-8349.
