Job Summary: The Foundation for Prader-Willi Research (FPWR) seeks a highly motivated, independent, and creative fundraising professional with a minimum of 3 years of nonprofit experience, including at least 2 years focused on special events. The Fundraising Events Manager will be responsible for the planning and execution of several large-scale fundraising events per year, while also supporting smaller fundraising events in collaboration with our community partners across the U.S.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Key thought partner in creative new event ideas, revenue generation,  and committee engagement
  • Create memorable events with an expense ratio of no more than 30% of revenue.
  • Plan and execute 2-3 large-scale fundraising events per year (minimum revenue $150,000 each)
  • Support smaller fundraising events per year, in collaboration with community partners.
  • Partner with committees, board members, and volunteers to drive engagement, secure sponsorships, and expand donor networks.
  • Create eye-catching collateral and engaging email content to promote events.
  • Manage timeline to develop event marketing and communications plan, including e-blasts, social media, and event materials.
  • Monitor all expenses and ensure events are within the set budget
  • Identify new potential sponsors for all events, steward sponsors year-round
  • Identify event vendors and negotiate contracts
  • Cultivate, steward, and strengthen relationships with sponsors, donors and in-kind partners to maximize contributions and long-term support
  • Oversee silent and live auction fundraising, including item procurement, platform management, catalog production, and auctioneer coordination
  • Develop and produce compelling program scripts, award presentations, and donor recognition moments to highlight mission impact
  • Create and manage detailed run of show documents to ensure a seamless flow of fundraising appeals, entertainment, and program elements
  • Track event revenue, expenses and ROI, providing reports to leadership and committees
  • Manage the life cycle of events: review the performance, recommend improvements, and introduce new ideas.
  • Coordinate feedback sessions post-event to gather input from volunteers
  • Ensure ongoing appreciation for event planning committees and hosts
  • Some evening and weekend hours will be required!

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3 years of non-profit fundraising and special events
  • Demonstrated track record of planning, growing, and executing successful fundraising events
  • Highly motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Ability to create eye-appealing print and digital materials
  • Proficient with digital communications and standard office software
  • Able to lift 40 lbs, remain on your feet for extended periods during events
  • Able to work nights and weekends for in-person events, fundraising support, and virual committee meeetings
  • Must reside within the continental United States
